The gift of Halina Pfeffer-Oberländer received by the National Museum in Wrocław in April 2022, provides an excellent opportunity to follow the complex and varied path of the artistic activity of her late husband, Marek Oberländer.
Out of the nearly 500 gifted items, the carefully selected works showcased in this exhibition, allow to analyse the creative turmoil of the artist, resulting in a vast number of his drawings – studies of form, colour, and motif.
Among the exhibits, there is a previously unknown series ”Korzenie” [Roots], made up of colourful impressions from Provence, abstract compositions with an eye motif, and also geometric abstractions. The exhibition is complemented by seven pictures from the collection of contemporary paintings of the National Museum in Wrocław, whose subject matter completes the artistic quest of Oberländer mentioned in the title.
