The Treasure of Środa Śląska. Royal Marriages

1 October – 30 December 2022

Curator of the exhibition: Jacek Witecki

A cyclical event dedicated to the Treasure of Środa Śląska. This time the theme of the exhibition is the history, political importance and the ceremonies of the royal weddings of Charles IV with Blanche of Valoise, and John of Luxembourg with Elizabeth of Přemyslid.

It also reflects on the circumstances of the House of Luxembourg ascending to the throne of Bohemia, and the role played by their royal brides. The exhibition presents artefacts from the Treasure of Środa Śląska, as well as events and ceremonies linked with royal weddings in Europe during the Middle Ages.
