Talking Pictures

26 November 2022 – 26 February 2023

Curator of the exhibition: Olga Budzan

The subject of this exhibition is story-telling in pictures – narrations translated into iconography in order to tell a story using images.

The exhibition showcases examples of amateur art, depictions of Stations of the Cross found in country churches, as well as tales in graphic form published in newspapers which are part of the history of the modern comic strip. History with a capital H is confronted with personal history, 19th century prints showing the consequences of bad conduct, and images to contemplate – such as the insignia of the Passion of Christ, pictures of the globe, and natural history illustrations.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Comics Museum in Kraków, and the Museum of Wrocław University.
