Polish Contemporary Art for Beginners

Inspired by the great success of Polish Cinema for Beginners project, The Four Domes Pavilion, in cooperation with Wrocławska Fundacja Filmowa, kindly invites to a series of encounters with the highlights of Polish contemporary art, dedicated primarily for English speaking audience. Our goal is to introduce foreigners to the unique concepts and great characters of Polish art of 20th and 21st century.

Avant-garde artist were true seekers of a new language of art. Reaching for a new media such as photography or film, they were creating truly experimental works inspi­ring other generations. During the lecture we will exami­ne works of Franciszka and Stefan Themerson, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, Karol Hiller, Aleksander Krzywobłocki and Mieczysław Berman.
