The Museum’s collection of Medieval art is one of the most precious in Europe and reflects the important role Silesia played as an artistic centre at that time. The oldest pieces shown date back to 900 years ago. The exhibition is divided into two parts: “Silesian stone sculpture 12th-16th c.” and “Silesian art 14th-16th c.”. The frst one presents, among others, romanesque relics of the ancient Benedictine Abbey in Ołbin, Gothic sarcophagi of the Silesian Piasts.
