Rules for viewing at the National Museum in Wrocław and its Branches

I General information

  1. Opening times:

  2. Detailed information regarding the viewing (including the opening times) of permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, rooms currently closed to visitors, concerts, lectures and guided tours and school visits, as well as the tickets price list are available in the ticket offices, museum information points and on the website of the National Museum in Wrocław, bookmark Visit (Tickets and useful information) ➸
  3. Prices of tickets for viewing at the National Museum in Wrocław and its branches and the available discounts remain subject to the decision of the Director of the National Museum in Wrocław.
  4. Documents which entitle to a purchase of a discount ticket should be presented prior to the transaction.
  5. Museum visitors are obliged to present a valid ticket.
  6. The Museum building and the surrounding area are subject to the monitoring and recording of images. Data administration is provided by the National Museum in Wrocław. For more information on the data processing see the website: mnwr.pl, the bookmark Policy of privacy ➸
  7. The purchase of a ticket confirms the acceptance of these rules of viewing.
  8. Ticket offices remain open up to 30 minutes before the Museum closing time.
  9. A ticket to the Panorama of the Battle of Racławice entitles its holder to a single visit to the permanent exhibitions at the National Museum, The Four Domes Pavilion Museum of Contemporary Art and the Ethnographic Museum during the three months following the visit to the Panorama of the Battle of Racławice.
  10. Free admission days for permanent exhibitions at the National Museum in Wrocław and its branches:
    — the National Museum and the Ethnographic Museum – Saturday,
    — the Four Domes Pavilion Museum of Contemporary Art – Tuesday.
  11. Free admission days do not apply to temporary exhibitions.

II General rules

  1. Visitors are obliged to follow instructions given by the Museum personnel and its security services.
  2. On entering the Museum, visitors and their luggage may be subject to electronic security checks aimed at identifying dangerous substances and objects.
  3. Visitors are fully financially liable for any damage or destruction caused to the Museum property.
  4. Parents or guardians bear full responsibility for under-age visitors.
  5. Persons under the influence of alcohol and/or other substances and behaving in a way which threatens the safety of visitors and/or museum exhibits, disrupts viewing by other visitors and breaks the generally accepted rules of public order will be requested to leave the Museum premises.
  6. Prior to entering an exhibition visitors will be required to leave any bulky items such as large backpacks, bags, suitcases and umbrellas, as well as outdoor clothing in the Museum cloakroom or deposit boxes which are free of charge.
  7. The Museum cannot be held responsible for any valuable and/or fragile objects left in the pockets of clothing or luggage left in the Museum cloakroom or any other generally accessible places within the Museum.
  8. Bicycles should be left in the appropriate stands outside the building at their owners’ risk.
  9. Viewing is conducted on foot (with the exception of persons with disabilities and adults accompanying a child in a pram).
  10. It is allowed to take photographs and make films only without the use of a flash or a tripod, and only for personal records. Professional photographic services are regulated by separate rules.
  11. The Museum kindly requests that visitors do not use their mobile phones when viewing exhibitions.
  12. Visitors should leave the Museum building by the official closing time.

III Visitors to the National Museum in Wrocław and its branches are not allowed to:

  1. carry firearms and any sharp objects,
  2. bring in or carry animals (excluding guide dogs),
  3. touch exhibits and elements of the interior design,
  4. sit on museum exhibits,
  5. view when under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs,
  6. eat and drink in the exhibition areas,
  7. smoke tobacco, including e-cigarettes, or use live fire anywhere within the Museum premises,
  8. behave noisily, run, slide or move in any other way than walk (does not apply to persons with disabilities and adults accompanying a child in a pram),
  9. photograph and film using a flash and/or tripod.

IV Permission on the part of the National Museum in Wrocław is required to:

  1. carry out arts-related business activity (including selling), and others,
  2. organize advertising or other public events,
  3. make and use films and photographs showing the Museum exhibits, interiors and architecture for purposes other than non-commercial private use.
